Infant Teacher

Job Overview
Applicants should have a genuine passion for caring for babies and little children as well as experience in a licensed childcare center. All applicants must be older than 18 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Already having your CDA as well as your CPR & First Aid certification is an advantage.

This role requires good verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to learn, and flexibility to take on tasks.

As an Infant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally stimulating environment for infants. Your responsibilities will include developmentally appropriate activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of each child in your care.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care.
  • Implement engaging interactions that promote children's learning and development.
  • Drive infants' development through age-appropriate activities.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting methods to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate with parents on their child's progress, needs and any issues that arise.
  • Comply with HHSC Minimum standards / TRS, and county Health Dept. regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues towards a cohesive work environment for all.
  • Keep assigned rooms neat / organized, and clean/sanitize during and at the end of each day.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting is preferred. Experience with other age groups is a plus.
  • Variety of room management techniques and positive behavior management strategies for a supportive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is a plus.
  • Candidates should possess patience and good interpersonal skills for team-working.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.50 per hour
