Employment Tyoe: Full time
Salary: $16:00-$18.00 per hour
The Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 months. This position focuses on supporting each infant's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development while building strong relationships with families and maintaining compliance with all licensing and company standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Child Care & Development
- Provide attentive and responsive care to infants throughout the day.
- Support developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities, tummy time, sensory exploration, music, language development, and play.
- Follow each infant's individualized feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedule.
- Create a warm, loving, and secure classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Ensure toys, equipment, and materials are sanitized and in good condition.
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Assist with classroom setup, daily routines, and transitions.
Family Communication
- Build positive relationships with families through daily communication.
- Provide updates regarding feeding, sleeping, diapering, developmental progress, and classroom activities.
- Partner with families to support each child's individual needs and development.
Curriculum & Documentation
- Implement curriculum activities and lesson plans designed for infants.
- Observe and document developmental progress.
- Participate in assessments, parent conferences, and center events as needed.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers, administration, and support staff.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Support center initiatives and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Child Care licensing requirements as mandated by state regulations.
- CDA, FCCPC, or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.
- Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with young children and their families.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry children up to 40 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and engage in active play.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Maintain a high level of energy and engagement throughout the day.
