Lead Teacher

The Lead Teacher duties include but are not limited to the following...

• Preparing and implementing daily lesson plans in accordance with center curriculum, monthly newsletters, progress reports.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques to teach children, helping them meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplementary assistance.
• Collaborate with other teachers, and staff members to create an optimal learning and caring environment.
• Address basic interpersonal skills, such as sharing, taking turns and how to socially interact in the classroom environment.
• Excellent and effective communications to interact with parents, staff members and management in a professional manner.
• Participate in center activities and events..
• Participate in monthly staff meetings.
• Adhere to NYSOCFS regulations.

Qualifications - all three criteria must be met

1) An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field, or

a Child Development Associate credential or other Office-recognized credential

specific to the preschool developmental period.

2) one year experience related to caring for children, or

9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan

of study leading to: a Child Development Associate Credential, or an Associate’s degree in

Early Childhood, Child Development or related field;

3) Two years’ experience related to caring for children.
