An infection control nurse develops and implements policies to prevent and manage infections in healthcare settings by monitoring and analyzing infection data, educating staff and patients, and investigating outbreaks. Key duties include conducting surveillance, ensuring compliance with hygiene and sterilization protocols, and staying updated on new prevention practices and regulations.

Core responsibilities

  • Surveillance and analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on infection rates and trends within a facility.
  • Policy development: Create and implement infection control policies and procedures, including protocols for hand washing, sterilization, and isolation.
  • Education and training: Train healthcare staff, and sometimes patients and families, on proper infection prevention techniques.
  • Outbreak investigation: Investigate and respond to reports of infection outbreaks and potential threats.
  • Risk assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential infection risks throughout the facility.
  • Compliance monitoring: Ensure adherence to established protocols and regulations, including those related to disinfection, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work with various healthcare teams, administrators, and public health authorities to ensure a comprehensive and effective infection control program.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
