Infection Control Nurse

  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • 1. Infection Prevention & Controlmplement and monitor the Hospital Infection Control Program as per NABH standards
  • Ensure compliance with standard precautions and transmission-based precautions
  • Monitor hand hygiene practices and conduct regular audits
  • Ensure proper use of PPE (gloves, masks, gowns, etc.)

2. Surveillance & Monitoring

  • Conduct HAI surveillance (CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, SSI, etc.)
  • Collect, analyze, and report infection data monthly
  • Maintain infection rate statistics and trend analysis
  • Coordinate with microbiology for culture and sensitivity reports

3. NABH Documentation & Audit

  • Prepare and maintain all NABH-related infection control documents
  • Participate in internal audits and NABH assessments
  • Ensure policy adherence and corrective actions for non-conformities
  • Maintain records for sterilization, BMW, and infection control indicators

4. Biomedical Waste Management

  • Monitor BMW segregation, collection, transport, and disposal
  • Train staff on color coding and BMW guidelines
  • Conduct regular BMW audits and maintain records

5. Sterilization & CSSD Monitoring

  • Monitor sterilization processes (ETO, Autoclave, Plasma, etc.)
  • Maintain sterilization indicators and logbooks
  • Ensure OT and ward infection control compliance

6. Training & Education

  • Conduct infection control training for staff, doctors, and housekeeping
  • Organize hand hygiene day, infection control week activities
  • Provide orientation training for new employees

7. Outbreak Management

  • Identify, investigate, and manage infection outbreaks
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Report outbreaks to management and authorities if required

  • Strong knowledge of NABH infection control standards
  • Audit and documentation skills

  • Data analysis and reporting ability
  • Team coordination and leadership skills

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduction in hospital-acquired infection rates
  • NABH audit compliance
  • Hand hygiene compliance percentage
  • BMW compliance rate
  • Training effectiveness
  • B.Sc Nursing / GNM
  • Valid State Nursing Council Registration
  • Certification or training in Infection Control / NABH preferred
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hospital experience (ICU/OT experience preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
