Informatics Specialist - Outpatient Team

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

Candidates at either the Associate Informatics Specialist or Informatics Specialist will be considered (details on qualifications below). Salary is based on level of position and years of relevant experience.


Position Summary

The Informatics Specialists are responsible for promoting the understanding, integration and application of information technology tools in healthcare settings. This includes day-to-day oversight of end user training, upgrade education, coaching, and problem solving. The Informatics Specialists also act as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting all care givers in the implementation, learning, use, adoption and optimization of clinical technologies. For this role, driving between locations is required. Rotation on a call schedule may also be required.

  • The Informatics Specialists analyzes, designs, develops, tests, implements and provides ongoing support of assigned system applications (i.e. Epic, Dragon, and Halo).
  • The Associate Informatics Specialist maintains, participates, attends, and provides ongoing support of assigned system applications (i.e. Epic, Dragon, and Halo).

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required
  • Must be comfortable training in both group settings and one-on-one (with end users)
  • Associate's degree, or equivalent in education and/or experience, is required
  • Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License (ODL) with proof of safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of auto insurance is required

For the Associate Informatics Specialist Level:

  • Obtaining Epic Proficiency within 6 months of hire is required
  • 1 year of healthcare related experience in the area(s) of direct patient care, medical records, patient registration, scheduling, claims and/or information technology within a hospital or clinic (or the equivalent in education and experience) is required

For the Informatics Specialist Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in ITS, Healthcare Management, Business, Clinical Specialty, or related field is preferred
  • Will be required to acquire applicable Epic Proficiency, Accreditation, or Certification within 6 months of hire, if required. Will be required to complete ongoing requirements to maintain Epic Proficiency, Accreditation, or Certifications.
  • 2 years of direct IT application support and/or build experience - OR - related healthcare operations experience with proven ability to analyze processes, solve problems, and contribute to the improvement of systems and solutions in a professional setting is required.
  • Healthcare related experience in the area(s) of direct patient care, medical records, patient registration, scheduling, claims and/or information technology within a hospital or clinic (or the equivalent in education and experience) is preferred
