Milacron is looking for an Information Technology Intern to join our team in Batavia, OH for the summer semester. The Information Technology Intern (ITSM Support Analyst) will support the IT team with a focused hardware refresh initiative involving the replacement of expiring end of lease laptops. This role provides hands-on experience with Windows IT support, device lifecycle management, and end-user support in a corporate environment. The intern will assist with device preparation, logistics, user coordination, and on-site support while gaining exposure to IT service management processes and day-to-day IT operations.
Work You’ll Do
- Assist with the swap-out of a subset of expiring end-of-lease laptops from HP to new Dell leased systems
- Support device lease swap logistics, including tracking and coordination
- Prepare new Dell laptops for deployment, including:
- Asset tagging
- Power-on and basic hardware verification
- Confirming standard image or required configuration is present
- Coordinate and schedule laptop swap appointments with end users
- Provide in-person or desk-side support during laptop swaps:
- Collect returned HP laptops
- Distribute new Dell laptops
- Confirm users receive required accessories (dock, power adapter, etc.)
- Track devices throughout the swap process, including serial numbers, user assignments, and lease return status
- Prepare returned HP laptops for lease return, including packaging and required documentation
- Update tracking sheets or IT systems as instructed
- Escalate issues such as hardware defects or missing equipment to IT staff
- Shadow IT support personnel
- Assist with resolving and closing IT support tickets in the ticketing system
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (second or third year preferred) in Business (Data), Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Windows IT support and basic computer hardware skills
- Familiarity with ticketing systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly with end users and IT team members
- Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and accept feedback
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable working in a hands-on support environment
