Location: Mescalero Indian Health Clinic, 318 Abalone Loop, Mescalero, NM 88340

Pay: $34–$40 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week, no holidays
Contract Term:

• Base Year: 01/01/2026 – 12/31/2026
• Option Years: Through 12/31/2030

Position Overview:
The IT Specialist provides on-site technical support and system administration for the Mescalero Indian Health Clinic. The role ensures that hardware, software, and network systems operate efficiently and securely to support healthcare delivery. This position is not remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, systems, and applications.
• Support and maintain Windows systems and EHR/RPMS infrastructure.
• Monitor hardware and system integrity, perform security and backup operations.
• Apply system patches, perform upgrades, and optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Maintain documentation, configuration, and procedures.
• Submit written progress reports to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
• Provide end-user training when needed.
• Work independently and ensure compliance with IHS policies and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with EHR/RPMS or equivalent healthcare IT systems.
• Proven background in system administration, network support, and IT security.
• Ability to manage multiple systems and projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred:

• Prior experience supporting Indian Health Service or federal healthcare IT environments.
• Knowledge of healthcare data security standards.
