Purpose of Job:

The inpatient unit doctor is a dedicated physician specializing in tertiary care settings. With a strong commitment to

enhancing healthcare delivery, this role will cover all OneHealth Inpatient Units to ensure compliance with

healthcare standards and foster a patient-centered environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care Oversight:

- Monitor and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring they are effectively implemented and modified as

needed.

- Collaborate with healthcare teams to address complex patient needs and enhance treatment outcomes.

- Oversee patient movements within the hospital to ensure timely admissions and discharges.

- Manage, report and escalate any deviations from planned clinical care on a daily basis.

- Conduct surgical risk stratification for cases, assessing patients' physical and mental wellness, medical history, and overall health to determine their suitability for surgical interventions and inform tailored care plans

Staff Management:

- Liaise with nursing and support staff as required for patient care.

- Liaise with OneHealth doctors and support as required.

- Financial Oversight:

- Monitor financial performance metrics to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high-quality care.

- Collaborate with finance department to manage package and open bill transactions as well as develop financial plans that align with departmental goals and ensure sustainability.

- Oversee the unit's resources, equipment inventory, and manage supplies efficiently.

Communication:

- Act as the main point of contact for partner hospitals to facilitate clear communication and efficient collaboration on bed and OR theatre usage.

- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with hospital administration, nursing staff, and medical teams to align on patient care strategies and schedules.

- Along with the Client Team, serve as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff to facilitate effective communication.

- Along with the Quality Team, address concerns and feedback from patients and families promptly and compassionately.

Quality Improvement:

-Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

- Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies accordingly.

- Create and implement policies that govern patient care practices within the units.

- Develop emergency protocols and standard operating procedures to enhance safety.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to regulations governing inpatient care.

- Participate in regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with health standards.

Qualifications:

Essential:

· Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery

· Active Medical License

· 1-3 years of experience

Desirable:

· Additional certifications in healthcare management or leadership

Skills:

· Strong leadership and management abilities.

· Expertise in patient care coordination across multiple facilities.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

· Experience moderating committee meetings or similar collaborative initiatives.
