Inside Sales

Position Description

Switchgear Power Systems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will support customers, prepare quotes, enter orders, and work closely with internal departments to ensure exceptional service and timely delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, providing product information, pricing, and availability.

• Prepare, track, and follow up on quotes and sales orders.

• Coordinate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to meet customer requirements.

• Maintain accurate customer and order records within company systems.

• Assist with customer issue resolution and service-related needs.

• Support Independent Representatives with customer updates and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Solid attention to detail and organizational ability.

• Comfort with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with computers and standard office software.

• Experience in switchgear manufacturing, electrical products, or technical sales is a plus, but not required.

• Ability to read understand one-line diagrams.

• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Qualifications Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Prior experience in inside sales, customer service, order management, or related office environment is preferred.

• Experience in manufacturing, switchgear equipment, or technical products is a plus but not required.

• Demonstrated experience working with customers professionally and efficiently.

Travel

• This position requires minimal travel.

• Occasional travel for training, customer visits, or company events may occur but is not typical.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel computer keyboard, objects, or tools; talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and frequently uses a computer keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently.
