PURPOSE:
Responsible for ensuring that all operations and maintenance (O&M) activities in the drainage and sewage network comply with applicable standards, project specifications, safety requirements, and environmental regulations. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and verification of O&M works to maintain the reliability, performance, and compliance of all wastewater and drainage systems.
ROLES & RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Conduct daily inspections of O&M activities, including jetting, desilting, CCTV inspections, repairs, manhole rehabilitation, and network cleaning.
- Verify that works are performed according to approved Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and project specifications.
- Inspect materials, equipment, and tools used for maintenance and repair works for compliance with standards and approvals.
- Witness and record results of field tests such as leak tests, flow tests, and CCTV condition assessments.
- Check reinstatement works (backfilling, road resurfacing, etc.) to ensure proper restoration.
- Prepare Inspection Requests (IRs) and maintain daily inspection logs, checklists, and photographic records.
- Document inspection findings and report any deviations or defects to the QA/QC Engineer.
- Verify and file all test results, calibration certificates, and material approvals.
- Support preparation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure O&M works comply with relevant municipal standards, project specifications, and ISO 9001 Quality Management requirements.
- Confirm that preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are carried out as per schedule and approved procedures.
- Monitor subcontractors’ and in-house teams’ adherence to QA/QC procedures and safe work practices.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC Engineer, Site Supervisors, and Operations Teams to schedule and carry out inspections.
- Report quality performance, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities to the QA/QC Engineer.
- Participate in toolbox talks and quality briefings to reinforce awareness among work crews.
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality performance and reduce rework.
- Provide feedback on inspection findings and assist in implementing process improvements.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in drainage and sewage network operations and maintenance.
Competencies:
- Experience in QA/QC roles related to drainage and sewage network operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 systems.
- Relevant training in quality management is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Attentive to details.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Course or relevant experience.
