Job Description:

Inspector Structure

Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conducting regular inspections of structural elements such as foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls.

  • Ensuring construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and design standards.

  • Verifying that materials meet quality requirements and project specifications.

  • Monitoring workmanship to ensure adherence to the highest standards.

  • Identifying and reporting deviations, defects, or discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes, or local regulations).

  • Reviewing structural and shop drawings to understand project requirements.

  • Inspecting reinforcement steel (rebar) placement for proper spacing, alignment, and anchorage.

  • Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address structural issues.

  • Witnessing and verifying structural tests, including concrete compressive strength, rebar tensile tests, and soil compaction tests.

  • Promoting safe practices during the handling and construction of structural components.

  • Maintaining detailed inspection records and preparing reports for the project team.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering .

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience , with a focus on bridge projects.

  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction methods.

  • Familiarity with structural codes and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes, or local standards).

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings and specifications.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and management.

  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify defects or non-conformances.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to structural works.
