Role Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring efficient project execution, system reliability, safety compliance, and performance optimization in line with ADNOC’s technical and HSE standards. The position oversees the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of AMI smart gas meters across residential, commercial, and industrial sites while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the installation of AMI smart gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Supervise site preparation, meter mounting, pressure testing, and commissioning activities in compliance with ADNOC Gas Distribution standards.
- Verify correct gas flow direction, pressure, and meter connectivity prior to activation.
- Ensure accurate configuration, calibration, and data validation between smart meters and Head End Systems (HES).
- Conduct pre-installation surveys and coordinate with customers and contractors to ensure site accessibility and safety compliance.
- Monitor and maintain AMI smart metering systems to ensure continuous, accurate gas consumption data collection.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of smart meters.
- Identify and resolve communication issues between field meters and central systems (HES/MDMS).
- Support remote operations, firmware upgrades, and data synchronization activities.
- Ensure all field activities comply with ADNOC HSE guidelines and gas safety procedures.
- Maintain and manage safety documentation, including Permits to Work (PTW), and ensure safe handling of gas lines and related equipment.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on installation and maintenance progress.
- Maintain accurate records of installed meters, customer details, and communication statuses.
- Support documentation and reporting requirements for ADNOC audits and QA/QC compliance.
- Generate operational and data verification reports from HES/MDMS to ensure data integrity and system performance.
- Provide technical support to customer service teams regarding meter performance and installation queries.
- Assist in conducting training sessions for field technicians and junior engineers on AMI installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (mandatory).
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in gas distribution, oil & gas, or utility sectors.
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of gas network operations, pipeline safety, pressure regulation, and metering calibration.
- Familiarity with ADNOC or equivalent Gulf region gas distribution standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office, HES/MDMS platforms, and maintenance management systems.
