Primary Purpose:
- The Special Populations Instructional Designer is responsible for supporting the mission of Region 10 ESC by implementing and supporting digital learning initiatives, integrating content from subject matter experts into engaging online synchronous and asynchronous courses, maintaining and analyzing online coursework through a learning management system, and developing visually engaging outreach and presentation materials.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Masters Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field preferred
- Instructional Design Certificate preferred
Experience:
- Three of more years experience in technical role required
- Experience as a digital instructional designer preferred
- Experience in learning management system course development preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Familiarity with working with website Content Management System issues (CMS)
- Familiarity with working with Learning Management System (LMS) course management
- Strong knowledge of at least 1 digital design software system (Adobe, Canva, etc)
- Knowledge of Section 508 compliance design requirements
- Knowledge of course development software
- Ability to interview subject matter experts to design and develop
- audience-appropriate, clear, concise, accurate, and complete learning content
- Ability to develop engaging instructional materials for delivery in a variety of formats, including HTML, video, interactive media, etc.
Accountability:
- The Instructional Designer is accountable to the Special Populations Director or his/her designee.

- Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel

- Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
- Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing
- Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies
Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Special Populations Instructional Designer
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of knowledge
- Work with subject matter experts and identify the target audience’s training needs
- Create digital supporting materials for Special Populations teams (audio, visual, flyers, simulations, etc).
- Adhere to ESC instructional design principles to develop content in line with adult learning standards of Region 10’s Professional Learning Model.
- Conduct ongoing review of Region 10 Special Populations webpages to ensure current, useful, accessible information is on all pages.
- Support with digital/hybrid meeting and event scheduling and logistics during training sessions, team meetings, and large scale events.

Pay: $57,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
