Instrument Maintenance Technician
Position Title: Maintenance Technician – Instrumentation
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Head
Experience: 2–3 years (instrumentation in plant preferred)
Role Purpose
To maintain instrumentation, sensors, process controllers, and provide support in mechanical and utility maintenance to ensure process stability and product quality.
Required Qualification
- ITI / Diploma – Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics
- Experience in instrument maintenance (at least 1–2 years preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation & Calibration
- Maintain and calibrate pH meters, TDS meters, temperature sensors, pressure gauges, flow meters, level sensors.
- Check accuracy and troubleshoot faulty readings.
- Maintain calibration records and certificates.
Process Monitoring
- Support production in monitoring critical process parameters.
- Ensure alarms and interlocks are functional.
Mechanical & Utility Support
- Assist in pump, valve, gearbox minor maintenance.
- Support compressors, blowers, ovens, boilers, RO, and utility systems.
Preventive Maintenance
- Execute daily/weekly PM checklists.
- Follow scheduled maintenance plans and report deviations.
Material & Stock
- Maintain spares for instruments (probes, sensors, controllers, cables).
- Raise requests and follow-up on procurement.
Documentation
- Update maintenance logs, calibration registers, breakdown reports.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow SOPs, LOTO, PPE usage.
- Support ISO/QA audits with data and documentation.
Skills Required
- Hands-on calibration & instrumentation troubleshooting
- Basic PLC/HMI understanding (added advantage)
- Knowledge of control loops
- Documentation discipline.
