We work with property owners, developers, and investors on complex accounts that require creative underwriting strategies, strong carrier relationships, and a high level of technical expertise. As we continue to scale, we are looking to bring on a high-performing Account Manager who can take ownership of client relationships and play a key role in both retention and growth.


Position Overview


This is a client-facing, technical role responsible for managing a book of business across commercial and personal lines.


You will oversee renewals, quote and remarket accounts, identify coverage gaps, and work directly with carriers to structure competitive and comprehensive insurance programs.


This is not a passive servicing role — we are looking for someone who can think like an underwriter, act like an advisor, and operate with a high level of accountability.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage and service a portfolio of commercial and personal lines accounts
  • Oversee the full renewal process from marketing to binding
  • Proactively remarket accounts to improve coverage and/or pricing
  • Obtain and compare quotes from multiple carriers
  • Review policies for accuracy and identify coverage gaps or exposures
  • Assist in presenting proposals and explaining coverage to clients
  • Negotiate with underwriters to secure optimal terms
  • Process endorsements, policy changes, and daily servicing requests
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in QQ Catalyst (or similar AMS)
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing book


Qualifications


  • 3–5+ years experience at an independent insurance agency
  • Experience handling both Commercial Lines and Personal Lines
  • Strong understanding of underwriting, coverage forms, and risk evaluation
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines efficiently
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Experience with QQ Catalyst or similar agency management systems
  • Active NY P&C License (or ability to obtain quickly)


Compensation & Growth


  • Base Salary: 65,000-$75,000 (based on experience)
  • Commission: Paid on new business written
