We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience and be proficient in handling personal injury cases including motor vehicle accidents and premises liability from inception through trial.
This fully remote position requires the attorney to handle all aspects of litigation from case inception to final verdict, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice, and to do so in a timely manner. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence, a demonstrated history of success handling cases independently, and the ability to multitask effectively. First chair trial experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with 3-5 years of experience and a background in personal injury trial law, whether for the plaintiff or defendant. Key Responsibilities:
· Reporting effectively, timely, and professionally to clients
· Drafting pleadings, motions, and other court-related documents
· Sending and responding to discovery, including coordination with clients to obtain relevant responsive documents and information
· Negotiate settlement and manage client reporting
· Independently handle appearances and assignments with minimal supervision
· Conducting legal research on a variety of issues relevant to insurance defense litigation
· Preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, site inspections, and mediations
· Prepare and present clients for depositions
· Active participation in all aspects of litigation management
· Attend status conferences, docket calls, pre-trial conferences, and trial
· Collaborate with partner attorneys on case progress and strategies
· Submit regular progress reports on case status
· Establish a professional rapport with clients
· Some travel is required
Qualifications:
· Must be licensed to practice law in Texas (additional state licensure is a plus)
· 3-5 years of experience
· Personal injury, including motor vehicle and premises liability experience (defense or plaintiff)
· Trial experience preferred
· Experience negotiating insurance claims
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
