Insurance Manager

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Insurance Department
Location: Meridian Hospital, Kolathur, Chennai

Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Insurance to oversee the hospital’s insurance operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end insurance processes, coordinating with insurance providers, ensuring smooth claim settlements, and leading the insurance team to deliver efficient and patient-friendly services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Insurance Department.
• Coordinate with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and insurance companies for pre-authorization, approvals, and claim settlements.
• Monitor and verify insurance documentation, billing accuracy, and compliance with hospital policies.
• Ensure timely submission and follow-up of insurance claims to minimize denials and delays.
• Handle escalations related to insurance queries from patients, attendants, and doctors.
• Train, mentor, and guide the insurance team for process improvement and service excellence.
• Maintain MIS reports and analyze insurance claim trends to support management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with IRDA guidelines, hospital SOPs, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with finance/accounts for reconciliation of insurance receivables.
• Drive initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and reduce turnaround time in insurance processes.

• Proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline (MBA in Hospital Administration / Insurance Management preferred).
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Hospital Insurance/TPA operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
