Purpose of the Role


The Integrated Strategy Director is the architect of Tribe X’s strategic ecosystem, bridging brand, creative, media, PR, and brand experience into one unified, insight-driven approach.

They ensure that every brand Tribe X partners with is built on truth, expressed with clarity, and optimized for continuous impact, following Tribe X’s core philosophy of focus, minimal, effective strategies that are intentional.

This role goes beyond traditional planning. It’s about shaping how Tribe X thinks about strategy, defining the methodologies, frameworks, and processes that connect brand purpose to measurable growth.

At the heart of this is Tribe X’s Truth to Tribe framework: helping brands uncover their “why,” then using 360 marketing to build brand communities and deliver impact.

The Director will lead and grow a multidisciplinary strategy team, unlock human insight that fuels all departments, and continuously evolve the agency’s strategic edge to stay ahead of culture and technology.


Responsibilities

Lead and Integrate Strategy Across Disciplines

Oversee all strategy functions, brand, creative, content, media, PR, and brand experience, ensuring they align under a single, coherent brand narrative.
  • Build and evolve integration systems that connect every touchpoint from awareness to advocacy.
  • Act as the strategic bridge between departments, ensuring strategy drives both creative expression and business outcomes.

Drive Insight and Strategic Intelligence

Lead the discovery and interpretation of human, cultural, and behavioral insights that power all agency thinking.
  • Develop mechanisms for insight-sharing across teams to ensure decisions are data-informed and emotionally intelligent.
  • Champion a culture of curiosity and continuous learning within the strategy discipline.

Own and Evolve the Tribe X Strategic Philosophy

  • Steward and evolve the Truth to Tribe framework, ensuring every client strategy delivers authentic purpose and community-led growth.
  • Codify and document how Tribe X thinks about brand building, marketing effectiveness, and cultural relevance.
  • Maintain our tools, templates, and playbooks used across the agency to align with any updates in Tribe X’s strategic philosophy.

Optimize Strategy for Continuous Improvement

Design and lead cyclical strategic reviews that evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with media, content, and brand teams to refine campaigns based on performance insights and learning loops.
  • Ensure that every strategy has clear success metrics, testing methodologies, and feedback systems.

Build, Lead, and Develop the Strategy Function

Lead, mentor, and expand the strategy team across disciplines, fostering cross-functional collaboration and accountability.
  • Set standards of excellence for strategic output, presentation, and client influence.
  • Represent strategy at the leadership level guiding major pitches, shaping client relationships, and influencing agency direction.


Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have:

10+ years of experience in strategy (brand, digital, or integrated), with proven leadership in a full-service or digital-first agency.
  • Strong track record of building integrated strategies that connect creative, media, and brand experience.
  • Deep understanding of cultural insight, consumer psychology, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience managing and growing multi-disciplinary strategy teams.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to inspire both clients and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinker who’s also operationally grounded and capable of turning philosophy into systems and tools.

Nice to Have:

Experience working with luxury, lifestyle, or purpose-driven brands.
  • Familiarity with behavioral science (specifically sociology of affluent consumers / high purchase power), audience segmentation, and brand community-building.
  • Background in marketing effectiveness, testing frameworks, and performance optimization.
