Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for intellectual property projects to facilitate resource alignment and conduct due diligence before outside counsel is engaged
- Perform patent searches and investigate competitor technology
- Coordinate patent, copyright, and trademark application preparation with outside counsel
- Conduct patent clearance investigations
- Maintain current patent, copyright, and trademark portfolio in addition to the virtual patent listing
- Conduct internal intellectual property training and ideation activities
- Consults outside counsel to assist in determining the claims of Bradford White patents
- Research, investigate and assist in the pursuance of potential infringement cases
- Identify patent and trademark opportunities early in the product development process
- Monitor and update processes for creating a new trademark and retiring or surrendering a trademark
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field required
- Relevant experience working at a law-firm or with in-house patent and trademark matters, ideally within the manufacturing industry is preferred
- Strong MS Office experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Strong technical acumen and ability to learn new software applications
- Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
