Intellectual Property Manager

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a point of contact for intellectual property projects to facilitate resource alignment and conduct due diligence before outside counsel is engaged
• Perform patent searches and investigate competitor technology
• Coordinate patent, copyright, and trademark application preparation with outside counsel
• Conduct patent clearance investigations
• Maintain current patent, copyright, and trademark portfolio in addition to the virtual patent listing
• Conduct internal intellectual property training and ideation activities
• Consults outside counsel to assist in determining the claims of Bradford White patents
• Research, investigate and assist in the pursuance of potential infringement cases
• Identify patent and trademark opportunities early in the product development process
• Monitor and update processes for creating a new trademark and retiring or surrendering a trademark

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical field required
• Relevant experience working at a law-firm or with in-house patent and trademark matters, ideally within the manufacturing industry is preferred
• Strong MS Office experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Strong technical acumen and ability to learn new software applications
• Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
