Role Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to support our design team in project research, documentation, space planning, and client communication. This is an excellent role for a motivated early-career designer who wants hands-on experience across concept development, sourcing, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support senior designers with concept boards, material palettes, and presentation packages.
- Produce accurate floor plans, elevations, and furniture layouts using CAD/SketchUp/Revit as required.
- Create mood boards, renderings, and client-ready visuals (Photoshop, InDesign, or equivalent).
- Source furnishings, finishes, fixtures and maintain vendor/pricing databases.
- Prepare cost estimates, purchase orders, and assist with budget tracking.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients; attend site visits and meetings.
- Maintain project documentation, timelines, and sample libraries.
- Assist with procurement, deliveries, and quality checks on installations.
- Window Treatment tasks may include inspection , removal, reports and assistance on providing new options to clients .
- Assist with capturing content for social media .
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in an interior design studio, architecture firm, or related environment preferred, but not required.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating space planning, material selection, and visual presentation skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp or Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management tools (Asana, Trello, or similar).
- Knowledge of finishes, FF&E, building codes, and basic construction practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with 3D rendering tools (V-Ray, Enscape) or BIM workflows.
- Sourcing/network of vendors and manufacturers.
- Understanding of sustainability and accessibility best practices.
