Interior Designer

We are a dynamic, award-winning, luxury interior design firm with 25+ years in the business. Our primary interior design studio is in Boston and our second studio is in Kennebunk, Maine. Additionally, we have a successful retail store, Melange Home Shop, housed within the same building as our Kennebunk design studio.

We are seeking a creative and passionate interior designer to join our team. Applicants must have artistic vision, along with exceptional technical expertise, and a strong work ethic. Additionally, the role will include part time work as a sales associate in our Mélange Home Shop. Exposure to both sides of our business will create an exciting experience that provides hands on, direct client design interface.

For this full-time role you will:

● Contribute to creative projects with floor plan drawings and fabric selections

* Engage with customers in Mélange Home Shop for small single room design projects

* Engage with customers in a sales role on the Mélange sales floor

* Assist with Daher Interior Design on our full-scale design projects in the Maine area

● Report to Operations Manager at Mélange Home Shop for daily tasks and Senior designer at Daher Interior Design for full-scale interiors projects

● Work with our Boston team to learn our interior design systems

● Oversee the management of the Maine design studio library

Requirements for the position include:

● 3+ years experience working as an interior designer

● Strong AutoCAD skills, you MUST have strong skills to create floor plans and have solid background to show understanding of furniture sizes, scale and proportion. DO NOT APPLY without this skill.

● Knowledge of Sketch-Up, able to create simple elevations

● Strong proficiency in Adobe suite

● Proficient with Excel, utilized in our design studio for client plumbing, painting schedules and the like.

● Preferred knowledge of Design Manager

● Excellent work ethic and passion for design

● Willingness to jump in and assist with both retail customers and interior design clients

● Excellent communication skills, outward personality able to engage directly on sales floor with customers. Excellent writing skills for email construction to vendors, project updates

● Willingness to travel to local job sites for meetings and installations

● Self-starter

● Strong organizational skills
