Senior Interior Designer
Established in 2022, this firm operates as a financially stable, well-backed startup specializing in large-scale residential remodels and custom cabinetry design, with long-term growth potential. The Senior Interior Designer will serve as a design leader, with a strong emphasis on cabinetry, millwork, material selections, and FF&E development. This role ensures that all design directions are cohesive, technically sound, and flawlessly executed across large-scale remodels.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Leadership
- Lead cabinetry and millwork design, ensuring seamless integration with overall interiors and architectural intent.
- Develop and refine detailed cabinetry drawings and specifications for production.
- Create cohesive material palettes, FF&E selections, and finish schedules.
- Produce mood boards, material boards, and client presentation decks.
- Oversee studio organization of samples, finishes, and furnishings.
Architectural & Project Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to align cabinetry and interiors with building systems.
- Develop space plans, elevations, and detailed working drawings.
- Conduct site visits for documentation, installation review, and design verification.
- Prepare cabinetry, finish, and fixture schedules in coordination with construction sequencing.
- Attend design and site meetings, documenting and managing action items.
Project Support
- Manage FF&E procurement tracking and vendor coordination.
- Oversee design revisions and integrate client approvals into project timelines.
- Ensure all cabinetry and millwork submittals, shop drawings, and samples meet project standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (NCIDQ preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in high-end residential design with demonstrated cabinetry and millwork expertise.
- Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp (or similar), and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience producing cabinetry shop drawings and working directly with custom cabinetry vendors.
- Familiarity with cabinetry/millwork software strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, technical knowledge, and design presentation skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities, with experience managing complex residential projects.
- Ability to travel domestically for site visits, vendor meetings, and installations.
