CPA Architecture is a dynamic and collaborative design firm committed to delivering innovative architectural and interior design solutions. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects.
Position Summary
As an Interior Designer, you will play an integral role in the planning, design, and development of complex interior design projects. This position requires a strong understanding of design principles, material application, and coordination with architectural and engineering teams. The ideal candidate possesses creative problem-solving skills, advanced technical proficiency, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
· Proven ability to be a key contributor to complex interior design projects.
· Develop plans and designs for the interior of buildings, creating functional and aesthetic designs.
· Responsible for planning the use and layout of spaces and decorating with finishes, furniture, fixtures, millwork, and material boards.
· Develop schematic and construction drawings, presentations, and construction details and renderings as required.
· Conducts material and product research for project development for projects of small scale or segments of larger projects.
· Coordinates with architects and other team members throughout all design phases.
· Assists the Project Manager in client presentations on technical and design solutions.
· Collaboratively work with all project team members to ensure design quality and consistency.
· Assists in coordination and direction of single or multi-discipline teams on assigned projects of small size and complexity.
· Selects, evaluates, and implements procedures and techniques used on projects.
· Works independently on interior design projects and coordinates design efforts as needed.
· Contributes to evolving and assists in designing documentation standards and software tools.
· Constantly seeks knowledge and provides an environment that encourages innovation.
· May provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
· Collaborate with other team members to provide the client with recommendations in design.
· Understands the scope of services as outlined in project contracts and identifies when client requests are out of scope.
· Assists with various projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
· Creates detailed plans for construction and ensures timely deliverable submissions to clients and permitting entities.
· Prepares status updates, reports, and communicates project progress to leadership and internal teams.
· Participates in jobsite visits, client meetings, and presentations.
· Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and vendors’ representatives.
· Connects locally with professional networks and participates in industry organizations.
· May assist with documentation and presentations in support of proposals and business development efforts.
· Maintains relationships with existing clients and contributes to business development efforts.
· Assists in improving operations, increasing project efficiency, and building a culture of client service excellence.
· Encourages innovation, mentorship, and a people-first approach among junior staff.
· Understand risk management and business impact when implementing process improvements.
· Possesses a desire for lifelong learning and professional development.
· Assists with staff development through day-to-day collaboration and informal mentorship.
· Understands project performance, monitors budgets, and alerts senior staff if deadlines may be missed.
· Exhibits professionalism, humility, and confidence while fostering team trust and collaboration.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design or equivalent from an accredited institution.
· 5+ years of experience or proven ability to perform at an advanced professional level.
· Advanced knowledge of interior design principles and concepts.
· Understanding of designing interiors for residential, corporate offices, commercial, and/or industrial buildings.
· Knowledge of International Building Codes and ANSI standards.
· Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Products.
· Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
· Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa restrictions.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
