Interior Designer – Mid-Level

Our small, high-end, two-time ASID Excellence in Design award-winning interior design firm based in Fernandina Beach, FL is seeking a talented interior designer with at least 3–4 years of experience in residential design. This position offers an incredible opportunity for an energetic, motivated, and passionate individual to grow with an established, friendly, and well-respected design team.

We specialize in new home construction, remodeling projects, and interior decorating. We are a steadily growing firm working with clients who engage us to complete their homes from planning to installation. This mid-level role comes with direct mentorship from the principals and clear opportunities to grow your skills, responsibility, and client exposure over time.

This position will be working directly with the principals of the firm and is responsible for developing and executing the design, from the conceptual and presentation stage through the completion of final installation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support principals with all aspects of projects
  • Assist with client meetings and concept presentations
  • On-site measurements and photos
  • Floor plans, color and material schemes
  • Project management, including developing and managing budgets
  • CAD drawings using SketchUp and/or Chief Architect (or similar programs)
  • Prepare all spec input for purchasing
  • Work with the expeditor on order processing
  • On-site coordination and installation
  • Create clear, detailed CAD and SketchUp and/or Chief Architect drawings that communicate design intent to clients, contractors, and trades
  • Develop polished visual presentations using Photoshop and PowerPoint, Canva, or similar tools, incorporating imagery from SketchUp and/or Chief Architect to support client meetings and approvals
  • Serve as a primary support and “right hand” to the principals on key projects, helping move each phase forward smoothly and on schedule

Requirements Include:

  • Must hold a degree in Interior Design from an accredited school
  • Must have 3–4 years of professional experience in another interior design or architectural firm
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in handling and overseeing a project, from concept through final installation
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines
  • Proficiency in construction drawings, codes, materials, furniture and finish selections, and specifications
  • Proficiency in CAD, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, and/or Chief Architect (or similar programs), and Apple iOS
  • Strong proficiency in SketchUp and/or Chief Architect and Photoshop, with the ability to quickly produce 3D views and presentation imagery
  • Comfortable creating client presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote, Canva, or similar tools
  • Tech-comfortable and quick to learn new software or systems used in a design studio environment
  • Experience with Studio Designer or other studio management software is a big plus
  • Must be extremely professional, reliable, and punctual, be able to work late as needed, have personal stability, and live within 45 minutes of Fernandina Beach / Amelia Island
  • Must possess extensive product and vendor knowledge
  • Self-motivated and strong time management skills to successfully work on multiple projects
  • Must have well-developed delegation skills
  • Low-ego, solutions-oriented, and comfortable taking direction and feedback while maintaining a professional, positive attitude
  • Dependable, detail-focused, and committed to following through on deadlines and project responsibilities
  • Clear speaking voice with a pleasant and professional presence
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
