Interior Designer

Interiors by Maribeth is a full-service interior design firm specializing in residential and commercial design. We collaborate closely with homeowners, builders, and architects to create thoughtful, functional, and beautifully executed spaces. Our work spans everything from space planning and finish selections to full-scale design management.

We are located in Lagrange and serve most surrounding neighborhoods as well as the Chicagoland area.

Please note: This is an in-person position located in Lagrange, IL and ideally looking for someone who is local to the area but not a requirement.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Interior Designer to join our team. This role requires a strong design eye, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support residential design projects from initial consultation through final installation
• Develop space plans, furniture layouts, and design concepts
• Prepare presentations including material boards, finish selections, and visual concepts
• Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, and materials aligned with project goals and budgets
• Create and modify drawings (CAD preferred) including floor plans and elevations
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and vendors
• Assist with project timelines, budgets, and procurement tracking
• Conduct site visits, take field measurements, and document existing conditions
• Support installation days and ensure design intent is executed properly

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience in residential interior design
• Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar drafting software)
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture specifications
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Experience working with contractors and construction documents is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. for project install days and deliveries
• Must have a car and valid driver’s license
