About the Role |
Social Design Studio is looking for an Interior Designer (Entry–Mid Level) to join our team. We design thoughtful, concept-driven hospitality spaces—restaurants, hotels, salons—and we care deeply about how things look and how they function.
You will work directly with the Principal and be involved from early concepts through installation. This role is hands-on and fast-moving. You will support design development, construction documentation, coordinate with vendors, and stay close to the construction process. Over time, there’s room to take on more ownership and grow into a senior role.
Design + Team Collaboration
- Support the development of design concepts from schematic through final execution
- Collaborate with the Principal on design direction, material selections, and overall project vision
- Assist in preparing and presenting design concepts, including material palettes, drawings, and presentations
- Maintain consistency of design intent across all phases of the project
- Work collaboratively with internal team members to move projects forward efficiently
Technical Leadership + Construction Execution
- Contribute to and help refine construction document sets
- Participate in QA/QC to ensure accuracy and coordination
- Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits)
- Stay engaged in the field—walk sites, understand what’s being built, and help solve problems
- Communicate clearly with contractors, vendors, and consultants
We are seeking a motivated professional who thrives in a high-performance studio environment and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, well-executed work. The ideal candidate brings 1-3+ years of professional experience (post-graduate) within a design studio.
REQUIREMENTS |
- Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design
- 1-3+ years of professional experience (post-graduate) within an interior design studio
- Experience contributing to projects from concept through construction
- High Level of proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
- Experience producing construction document sets and design presentations
- Understanding of the full interior design process, from concept through installation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong design sensibility with attention to proportion, materiality, and detail
- Experience with Enscape or Revit is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Support all phases of the design process, from concept development through construction administration and final installation
- Assist in developing and executing design concepts in alignment with the Principal’s vision
- Prepare presentations, drawings, and material selections for client reviewProduce and coordinate construction documentation setsParticipate in QA/QC of project documentation
- Support Construction Administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site visitsSource and specify finishes, furnishings, lighting, and accessoriesCoordinate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain pricing and samples
- Assist in developing Sketchup 3D models and renderingsMaintain organized project files and documentation
- Maintain organized project files, documentation, and materials libraries
- Travel as required for site visits, installations, and key project milestones (local and national)
