We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Interior Designer with established connections in the local market to join our growing team. The Role
As our Interior Designer, you will be the creative force behind the look, feel, and flow of our events. You will translate client visions and our brand's commitment to excellence into tangible spatial experiences. From conceptual mood boards to detailed technical drawings for fabrication, you will oversee the visual journey of each project, ensuring every element—from furniture layout to lighting and material selection—aligns with the event's objectives and Haya's high standards of professionalism.
You will work closely with our Project Manager to ensure designs are not only beautiful but also practical, safe, and executable within the unique venues of Qatar. Your existing relationships with suppliers and contractors will be instrumental in bringing our visions to life efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Design Conception & Visualization:
- Develop creative spatial concepts and mood boards for a variety of events (conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, government summits, cultural activations) based on client briefs and Haya's brand identity.
- Produce high-quality 3D renderings, mood boards, and visual presentations to communicate design intent to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Select and specify all interior elements including furniture, finishes, flooring, lighting, signage, and decorative accessories.
Technical Execution & Coordination:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, construction plans, and elevation sheets for fabrication teams and vendors.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure designs are feasible within budget and timeline constraints.
- Liaise with contractors, carpenters, and suppliers to source materials and oversee the implementation of designs on-site.
- Conduct site visits to supervise installations, ensuring final execution matches the approved design vision and quality standards.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
- Leverage your existing network of local and regional suppliers to source high-quality materials, furniture, and decorative elements at competitive prices.
- Maintain and expand Haya's database of trusted vendors, fabricators, and contractors.
- Negotiate pricing and lead times with suppliers to ensure project profitability and timely delivery.
Brand & Market Alignment:
- Ensure all designs reflect the prestige and professionalism expected by government and corporate clients, while also incorporating the "vitality" and cultural sensitivity of the Haya brand.
- Stay updated on global design trends, innovative materials, and event technologies, adapting them appropriately for the Qatari market.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably within the events, exhibitions, or hospitality sectors in Qatar or the GCC.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio is mandatory, showcasing a range of completed projects—particularly temporary event spaces, exhibitions, or high-end corporate environments.
- Proven experience working with local suppliers, joinery workshops, and fabrication houses in Qatar.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Rhino.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for mood boards and presentations.
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, lighting design, and construction methods related to temporary event structures and exhibitions.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to event setup and public spaces in Qatar is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills & Attributes:
- Highly Creative: A strong aesthetic sense with the ability to think conceptually and translate abstract ideas into compelling designs.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail in both design and technical drawings.
- Excellent Communicator: Ability to present ideas clearly to clients and collaborate effectively with project managers and technical teams (Arabic language skills are a plus but not mandatory).
- Problem-Solver: Calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt designs quickly to meet budget, venue, or logistical constraints.
- Networker: A well-connected professional who knows where to find the right materials and the right people to execute complex designs.
- Passion for Events: A genuine enthusiasm for the events industry and creating memorable guest experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with major event suppliers in Qatar (e.g., furniture rental companies, printing houses, structural fabrication workshops).
- Experience working on government or high-profile corporate events in Qatar.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic.
