Interior Designer (Level II – Hospitality & Commercial)

Interior Designer (Level II – Hospitality & Commercial)
Paradym Ventures | Nashville, TN

We are looking for an Interior Designer who wants to be fully engaged in the work. This role involves concept development, documentation, and direct client interaction. You will develop initial design ideas, present them clearly, and support projects through construction as part of a small, high-performing team.

This is not a siloed role. You will be involved in design, documentation, coordination, and client communication throughout the life of a project. It is a well-rounded position with exposure to every phase, and an opportunity to grow into a higher level of design leadership over time.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop initial interior design concepts and presentation materials
  • Present design ideas internally during pinups and, as they develop, directly to clients
  • Develop finish palettes, material selections, and interior design packages
  • Produce plans, elevations, and interior details in Revit
  • Translate conceptual direction into clear, coordinated drawings and selections
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and vendors
  • Participate in and lead portions of client meetings and presentations
  • Assist in construction administration including submittals, RFIs, and site visits
  • Support multiple projects at a time, depending on scale and phase
  • Collaborate closely with junior team members as part of day-to-day project work

How We Work
We operate as a fully engaged, highly collaborative team. Everyone is involved in the full process. Design, documentation, coordination, and client interaction are shared across the team.

All team members communicate directly with clients and participate in meetings. Interior Designers are expected to contribute to conversations and, as they develop, lead portions of presentations.

We place a strong emphasis on storytelling. You are not just selecting finishes. You need to be able to explain design decisions and communicate ideas clearly.

We hold regular internal pinups where team members present their work. Designers are expected to generate the initial concept for discussion. From there, we review work as a team, refine ideas, and strengthen the design direction together.

This role provides a well-rounded experience across all phases of a project. Collaboration with other team members is a key part of how we work and how younger staff develop over time.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of interior design experience
  • Professional degree in Interior Design or related field
  • Strong Revit proficiency
  • Ability to develop initial design concepts independently
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to project delivery across multiple phases
  • Experience developing finish palettes and interior design packages
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong communication skills, both visual and verbal

Preferred Experience

  • Hospitality experience including hotel and restaurant projects
  • Mixed-use or urban commercial work
  • Experience working in a small, fast-paced team environment

Growth Path
This role is intended to grow into a senior-level interior design position, with increased responsibility for concept development, client leadership, and overall project delivery.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
  • Straight overtime paid for all hours over 40
  • Typical workload averages around 45 hours per week
  • Total annual compensation typically ranges from $85,000 – $100,000
  • No unpaid overtime

We structure compensation with a lower base and paid overtime so team members are compensated fairly for the actual time they invest.
