Intermodal Terminal Operations Manager

Railport Terminal Operations , part of Arkas Holding’s Port and Terminal Operations Group, is seeking an experienced Intermodal Terminal Operations Manager for its newly launched facility in Kartepe, Kocaeli.

This position plays a key role in the effective management of terminal operations that integrate road, rail, and sea transport. The role is critical for enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring seamless multimodal logistics processes, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in intermodal transportation and terminal operations
• Strong knowledge of rail and road transport processes
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Advanced planning, organizational, and analytical thinking abilities
• Proficiency in terminal management systems (preferably GullsEye) and MS Office applications
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to field conditions

Job Description

• Manage all operational processes at the intermodal terminal (loading, unloading, transshipment, storage)
• Coordinate transition processes between road, rail, and sea transport
• Respond promptly and solution-oriented to customer requests
• Ensure coordination with logistics stakeholders (rail operators, carriers, customs, port authorities)
• Manage the operational budget and implement cost optimization strategies
• Ensure efficient use of terminal equipment (reach stackers, cranes, forklifts, etc.)
• Define, monitor, and improve operational KPIs
• Lead and organize team management, shift planning, and personnel training
• Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety standards
