Role OverviewThe LiDAR Technology Intern will support our geospatial technology team in managing and utilizing LiDAR technology to collect, process, and analyze geospatial data for mapping, surveying, and 3D modeling applications across JLL's property portfolio and client projects.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in LiDAR system setup, calibration, and operation for data collection
Support field surveys and data collection activities using GPS and geospatial tools
Help process and analyze raw LiDAR point cloud data to generate Digital Elevation Models, 3D maps, and topographic profiles
Participate in data quality checks and validations to meet project specifications
Gain experience with specialized software including ArcGIS, Global Mapper, QGIS, and Terrasolid
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of surveyors, cartographers, and engineers
Assist in creating reports, visualizations, and project documentation
QualificationsBachelor degree in Surveying, Civil, Architecture, GIS, or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Basic understanding of geospatial data management
Exposure to LiDAR technology or GIS software
Preferred QualificationsExposure to LiDAR technology, GIS software, or geospatial analysis tools through coursework or projects
Basic programming knowledge (Python, MATLAB, R, or C++)
Previous internship or project experience in surveying, mapping, or geospatial analysis
Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools
