Quality Engineering Summer Intern

High Purity Value Stream (HPVS) & Quality Management

Location: Farmington, CT

Duration: [8 June - 31 July 2026] (full-time, temporary)

Position Summary

The Quality Engineering Summer Intern will support quality and process improvement initiatives within Mott’s High Purity Value Stream (HPVS) and Quality Management Group. This role provides hands-on experience in quality engineering, inspection systems, nonconformance management, and process development for high-reliability and healthcare-related products manufactured in controlled environments.

The intern will work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to strengthen foundational quality processes and support continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quality onboarding and training process development, including documentation and standard work improvements
  • Assist with evaluation and improvement of inspection methods and inspection effectiveness
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including data collection, defect tracking, and corrective follow-up
  • Assist with quality and process development initiatives supporting a healthcare-related product line
  • Participate in cross-functional quality improvement activities within the HPVS environment

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Interest in quality engineering, manufacturing processes, and regulated or high-purity products
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, hands-on manufacturing environment

Working Conditions

  • On-site role within a manufacturing environment
  • Regular work in controlled production areas, including ISO Class 5 (Class 100) cleanroom environments
  • Must comply with all safety, gowning, cleanroom, and quality system requirements
