The internship offers valuable in-house design experience across all design disciplines for design students and recent graduates. It offers a practical opportunity to sharpen skills in production, visual design execution, and ideation to create digital visual deliverables, including graphic design, prototypes, photography, web content, PowerPoint presentations, and mobile media graphics. While projects offer meaningful experience, most are produced for internal department use and cannot be shared publicly. However, the intern will gain job-ready soft skills within a large corporate environment, preparing them for a career in the corporate world.

The internship will introduce the intern to the fast-paced world of marketing and internal corporate design, with a focus on publishing internal communications content. The intern will contribute, learn, and grow in their field of study, preparing them for potential employment. The intern should be strategic-minded and apply that strategy to the design deliverables.

The intern will work under the direction of the Manager of Branding and Marketing Messaging, an award-winning Marketer and Creative Director with over 25 years of experience in the design and marketing industry.

This one-year hybrid internship in Salt Lake City is NOT a fully remote position.


The intern will support our communications and learning team by doing the following:

  • Collaborate with internal communications, content strategy, product management, and learning teams to find imagery and develop design prototypes that support communication and learning initiatives for (@caring.chruchofjesuschrist, @justserve, @deseretindustries, Church of Jesus Christ Newsroom, WSRS internal comms, etc.).
  • Visual and design support for prototype manuals and training materials focusing on caring for those in need and humanitarian efforts worldwide.
  • Visual design support for emails, PowerPoints, internal communications collateral, etc.
  • Web imagery search and content updates production support.
  • Image finding (for websites or articles)
  • Internal reports design
  • Brand support (organizing, archiving, and managing brand assets)
  • Internal communications campaigns
  • Event graphics, swag, and commemorative graphic design
  • Pilot programs, handouts, and prototypes

Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
