Under the direction of the Manager, Internal Sales Operations, the Internal Sales Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the effectiveness of individual and small group sales teams. While the primary focus of this role is on individual and small group segments, the Specialist will also provide backup support across broader areas of the business as needed, including large group sales and other operational functions. This position oversees essential sales operations by planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing a broad range of support functions critical to the sales process. This includes ensuring timely follow-through, compiling internal reports, and contributing to the development of the best practices that drive efficiency and overall sales performance. The role also supports workflow facilitation, training initiatives, and retention strategies in collaboration with the Manager of Internal Sales Operations.

“This position will initially report onsite 5 days a week. Upon completion of the training period, this position will be eligible for hybrid work. Alternatively, employees may choose to work onsite or in a hybrid capacity (a minimum of 9 days per month onsite), in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment."

Compensation
$72,000 - $86,000 annually

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.

What you’ll do
  • Provide operational support to the Manager of Internal Sales Operations and internal/small group sales departments as well as provide backup support across broader range of support functions to include large group sales and other operational functions, as needed.
  • Assist with implementing operational efficiencies related to the service and retention of existing and individual sales. Recommend changes to improve operational efficiencies across sales operations.
  • Support company licensing tasks specific to sales and provide information, communication, and assistance as needed.
  • Provide assistance as needed to upload sales staff appointments/cancellation on National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).
  • Submit and track internal sales Continuing Education Units (CEU)s on State Based Systems (SBS).
  • Provide instruction for sales on training and certification for Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and Part D certifications and submit and track internal sales Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on State Based Systems (SBS).
  • Submit GeoBlue appointments.
  • Provide instruction for EyeMed appointments.
  • Develop, maintain and organize reports and visualizations, ensuring accuracy by reconciling data across multiple sources; this includes, but is not limited to, reports related to production, prospecting, claims, goals, sales incentives, close ratios, project tracking, and special projects.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot data issues for resolution and collaborate with internal partners to automate data processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of plan-wide objectives and lead or support special project assignments.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to individual and small group sales. This may include large group sales and other sales operational areas, as needed.
What you need
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of products, contracts, compliance programs, and corporate policies.
  • Solid understanding of organizational structures, roles, processes, and interdepartmental support for sales.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, presentations, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept at navigating complex systems.
  • Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with persistence, follow-through, and independence in fast-paced environments.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or college courses in Business Administration, Management, or Communications, preferred.
  • Three years’ transferable operations experience required. Insurance field operations experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in group sales or individual sales preferred.
  • Requires a State of Kansas Insurance License within 60 days of hire. Must have and maintain a valid Driving License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain FFM certification annually.
  • Sign a non-compete agreement.
Physical Requirements
  • Travel overnight as needed for training, open enrollment, and other assigned duties.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours) while maintaining focus and productivity, with occasional breaks for movement and stretching.
  • Ability to travel periodically for on-site meetings, training sessions, or other business-related activities, as required.
