The Inventory Control Process Analyst serves as the strategic link between operations, supply chain planning, and data analytics. This role is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and governing inventory management processes across the organization to ensure data integrity, cost efficiency, and service excellence.

Inventory Analysis & Optimization

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of inventory data to identify trends, root causes of variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate demand forecasts, lead times, and order quantities to support right-sized inventory levels and prevent both shortages and overstock situations.
  • Process Design & Improvement
  • Map and evaluate existing inventory control processes end-to-end; identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
  • Design and implement improved workflows, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent execution and data accuracy.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce process waste and improve efficiency.
  • Partner with IT to optimize ERP/WMS configurations, ensuring accurate inventory transactions and integration across departments.
  • Systems & Data Management
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity across all inventory systems (ERP, WMS, MRP). · Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement system enhancements and test new functionalities.
  • Create automated reporting tools and exception-based alerts to proactively monitor inventory health and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for inventory control processes and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, logistics, finance, and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate alignment of inventory strategy with business objectives.
  • Support financial reconciliation and physical inventory counts, ensuring discrepancies are identified, analyzed, and resolved.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Develop and present detailed reports and insights to leadership on inventory health, cost reduction opportunities, and operational performance.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
