Job Title: Inventory Controller
Department: Operations / Store Management

Job Summary
The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining accurate stock levels across the supermarket. This role ensures product availability, minimizes losses, controls expiry and wastage, and supports smooth store operations through effective inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control daily stock movement including receiving, issuing, and transfers.
Ensure accurate inventory records in the system and conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Investigate and report stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, and variances.
Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
Track expiry dates and ensure timely rotation of stock (FIFO/FEFO) to minimize wastage.
Monitor slow-moving and fast-moving items and report findings to management.
Ensure proper documentation for GRNs, invoices, returns, and stock adjustments.
Maintain inventory accuracy for promotions, offers, and new product launches.
Assist in shrinkage control and loss prevention activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Support store audits and provide inventory-related reports as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 2–4 years of experience as an Inventory Controller or similar role in a supermarket or retail environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and POS/ERP software.
Good understanding of FMCG products, expiry management, and stock rotation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good communication and coordination skills.
