Inventory Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This role supports production, shipping, and receiving operations by monitoring inventory levels, performing cycle counts, and coordinating material availability to meet operational demands.

The Inventory Coordinator also manages shop supply inventory, ensuring commonly used consumables are available for production teams and properly tracked to prevent shortages or overstock.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Accuracy

  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the company’s ERP or inventory management system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, discrepancies, or excess inventory.
  • Process inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, and adjustments.

Inventory Control Activities

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and support quarterly and annual physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inventory adjustments according with the internal procedures..

Material Coordination

  • Ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are properly tracked and stored.
  • Coordinate material movement between warehouse, production, and shipping departments.
  • Support production schedules by ensuring materials are available when needed.

Shop Supply Management

  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of shop supplies and production consumables such as PPE, welding materials, grinding wheels, fasteners, lubricants, and other operational supplies.
  • Coordinate replenishment of shop supplies to prevent interruptions to production activities.
  • Organize and maintain shop supply storage areas to ensure easy access and inventory control.
  • Track usage trends and communicate replenishment needs to purchasing or management.

Receiving and Shipping Support

  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing documentation.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and system entry of received materials.
  • Assist shipping teams with locating and verifying inventory for outbound orders.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory control processes and warehouse organization.
  • Support initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting and inventory control processes.
  • Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory reports.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English/Spanish to interpret/follow safety guidelines and work instructions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to [e.g., 50 pounds] regularly.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a manufacturing facility (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels, potential for dust/debris, wet floors).
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and handling supplies.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (8:00am – 4:00pm)
  • Depending on operational needs, some weekend work may be required.

Benefits:

  • Allied employees will be eligible for the Allied benefit package 1st day of the month following 60 days.
