Inventory Manager

(Dates, Nuts, Dry Fruits & Imported Chocolates)

Department: Inventory & Supply Chain

Location: Daymart Hypermarket, Kozhikode (with multi-branch coordination as required)

The Inventory Manager – Premium Foods Division will be responsible for overseeing the complete inventory management cycle for the Dates, Nuts, Dry Fruits, and Imported Chocolates section. This includes stock planning, procurement coordination, quality checks, inventory control, vendor liaison, and ensuring optimal stock levels across stores. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to maintain high product quality, minimize wastage, and ensure smooth in-store availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Planning & Control

  • Monitor daily stock levels and maintain optimal inventory based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of products to prevent both overstocking and stock-outs.
  • Maintain accurate stock records through ERP or POS systems.
  • Implement periodic stock audits, physical verification, and variance analysis.

2. Procurement Coordination

  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery and replenishment of dates, nuts, dry fruits, and imported chocolates.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation and price negotiation in coordination with the Purchase Department.
  • Track purchase orders and manage inward goods documentation and records.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Inspect incoming stock for quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Monitor expiry dates and ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Team for periodic product checks and vendor compliance.

4. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review.
  • Track sales vs. stock movement and provide insights for demand forecasting.
  • Identify slow-moving or non-moving items and suggest corrective measures.

5. Team & Store Coordination

  • Supervise store staff involved in handling, stocking, and merchandising the Premium Foods category.
  • Ensure proper shelf display, product labelling, and section hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts and Operations team for stock reconciliation and loss control.

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to company inventory policies, food safety, and hygiene protocols.
  • Ensure all products comply with FSSAI labelling and handling guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Food Management.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in inventory management or retail FMCG (preferably in dry fruits, confectionery, or grocery category).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and inventory tracking tools.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and food category management.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Nadakavu, Calicut, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:
