Inventory & Purchasing Specialist

Shopify Experience Required
On-Site | Part time ( Could lead to a Full-Time position)

We are hiring an Inventory & Purchasing Specialist with direct, hands-on Shopify experience. This role is responsible for purchase order execution, inventory receiving, inventory accuracy, and building products inside Shopify for both in-store and online sales.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Purchase Orders

• Create, manage, and track purchase orders
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on delayed or partial shipments
• Communicate with vendors regarding availability, backorders, and discrepancies
• Maintain accurate vendor and cost information in Shopify

Receiving & Inventory Accuracy

• Receive incoming inventory and reconcile shipments against purchase orders
• Identify shortages, damages, and discrepancies and document appropriately
• Accurately receive inventory into Shopify at time of delivery
• Ensure inventory is properly labeled and staged for sales floor or storage

Shopify Product & Inventory Management (Critical)

• Build products from scratch in Shopify
• Create and manage SKUs, variants, pricing, cost fields, and inventory tracking
• Assign vendors and ensure products are properly configured for POS and online sales
• Maintain clean, accurate, and consistent product data in Shopify

Process Execution

• Follow established purchasing and receiving workflows
• Support inventory counts and audits
• Identify recurring inventory or system issues and escalate as needed

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience working directly in Shopify

Demonstrated experience:

• Creating and managing purchase orders
• Receiving inventory against purchase orders
• Building products in Shopify (not limited to editing existing listings)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work on-site in a retail and inventory environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a retail inventory environment
• Familiarity with Shopify POS
• Experience with inventory reconciliation or cycle counts

Schedule & Location

• Part time with possibility of full-time in the future
• On-site position

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
