Inventory Supervisor

Our products consist of New England Coffee, French Market Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, Tiger Sauce, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in foodservice and retail locations around the country.
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory control activities to ensure accurate inventory records, efficient material flow, and compliance with company procedures. This role leads inventory personnel, coordinates cycle count programs, manages inventory reconciliation processes, oversees batch order closure activities within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), and partners with warehouse, production, purchasing, and finance teams to maintain inventory accuracy and support operational objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily inventory control operations and provide leadership to inventory team members.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage cycle count programs and ensure timely completion of inventory audits.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper inventory transactions are executed within ERP systems
  • Coordinate physical inventories and support reconciliation activities.
  • Partner with warehouse, receiving, production, planning, purchasing, quality, and finance teams to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Review inventory reports and investigate variances related to receipts, shipments, production consumption, and inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and inventory phase-in/phase-out activities.
  • Train and develop inventory personnel on inventory management processes and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Generate inventory performance reports and communicate results to management.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on inventory accuracy, process efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor, review, and close production batch orders within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to ensure accurate inventory transactions, material consumption, labor reporting, and financial reconciliation.
  • Investigate and resolve batch order variances, including material overconsumption, inventory discrepancies, and transaction errors prior to batch closure.
  • Verify completion of all production reporting activities, including material issues, finished goods receipts, scrap reporting, and inventory adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure batch orders are completed accurately and closed within established timelines.
  • Maintain compliance with batch order closing procedures and support month-end inventory and financial close activities.
  • Analyze batch order performance data and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of inventory control, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing inventory reconciliation, cycle counting programs, and production order or batch order transactions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, warehouse operations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) production and inventory modules.
  • Knowledge of production order processing, batch order closure, inventory reconciliation, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting methodologies and inventory auditing practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and inventory optimization initiatives is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk warehouse and manufacturing floor environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
