Role Overview
We are looking for a Invetsment Accounting - Team Lead who will assist our operations and accounting team with maintaining accurate financial and investment records within the iRecord platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is detail-oriented, and has a strong sense of responsibility.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of data entry and junior accountants
- Oversee daily processing of trades, contract notes, MTM, corporate actions, dividends, interest, and settlements
- Manage investment data ingestion across equities, F&O, mutual funds, bonds, PMS, AIF, commodities, etc.
- Review reconciliations across brokers, bank statements, custodians & demat
- Final review & sign-off of investment accounting reports, P&L & capital gains
- Monitor accuracy, timelines, and workload distribution
- Implement QC checks & exception handling frameworks
- Collaborate with product & tech teams to improve workflows in iRecord
- Handle escalations and review client deliverables
- Document SOPs, controls & process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with audit & regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of capital market instruments & accounting treatment
- Experience with FIFO, average costing, corporate action adjustments & tax lots
- Hands-on experience with Capital Gains, Unrealized/Realized P&L & NAV reporting
- Deep understanding of F&O / derivatives accounting & MTM processes
- Exposure to portfolio accounting / back-office systems / fund accounting
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets — pivot, lookup, logical formulas, data cleaning
- Ability to analyze large datasets & identify anomalies
- Strong process-driven mindset with focus on automation & accuracy
- Experience leading small to mid-size teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in investment accounting / back-office / fund accounting / brokerage operations
- Prior team-lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication & stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work in a structured, high-accuracy environment
