This position is responsible for serving as a clinically trained professional or nurse liaison between Information Systems, Anesthesia and Operative services, Administration, and any other departments necessary that provide patient care. This position uses expertise to develop, implement, and evaluate projects for the facility to best facilitate its clinical usefulness. This position is responsible for coordination and development of peri-operative documentation, case requests, policies for add-on cases, and general scheduling permissions. This position requires familiarity with preference cards and their maintenance, case cart and materials management workflows, understanding of hospital policies related to the OR, AORN policies, and Joint Commission requirements such as recommendations and definitions for times captured during a surgical case. This position provides staff training and performance improvement of systems implemented/utilized. This position engages in significant interaction with clients, vendors, support personnel, administration, peers, and others.
Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing required.
Active TN RN license required.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting required.
Experience in healthcare IT, EHR systems, or clinical informatics preferred.
EPIC Certification will be required in the timeframe as determined by the Chief Information Officer
