Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Assistant to join our technology team! In this vital role, you will provide essential technical support, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and assist in managing our computer systems and network infrastructure. Your enthusiasm for technology and excellent communication skills will help ensure seamless IT operations across the organization. Duties

  • Deliver prompt and effective technical support to staff, resolving issues related to hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Assist with our Apple products such as IPAD's, IPhones and Mac computers.
  • Troubleshoot software problems across various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Manage computer hardware assets, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, maintaining inventory and performing upgrades as needed.
  • Assist with network administration tasks such as configuring LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), firewall settings, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Support IT infrastructure maintenance by working with tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), GPO (Group Policy Objects), Active Directory, and BMC Remedy for issue tracking.
  • Help set up and maintain security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and Meraki network devices to safeguard organizational data.
  • Collaborate with the help desk team using our Help Desk ticketing system to log incidents, track resolutions, and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Assist in user account management through Active Directory and perform routine system updates to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide support for remote access solutions such as VPNs and assist users with mobile device connectivity issues.
  • Contribute to documentation of IT procedures, network diagrams, and hardware/software inventories for ongoing support and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience providing IT support or help desk services in a professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, DHCP configuration, and network security practices.
  • Experience managing computer hardware components and peripherals; ability to troubleshoot hardware failures effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications and other productivity tools.
  • Hands-on experience with network security devices such as firewalls, VPNs, Meraki equipment, and TCP/IP troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Strong analysis skills to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions efficiently.
