IT Business Analyst

Job Title: Analytics Engineering Lead – KPI & Data Metrics
Location:  1555 Harding Street, Indianapolis, IN 46221
Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Compensation: $63-70 per hour DOQ
Type: 12 month contract

Overview

The Analytics Engineering Lead – KPI & Data Metrics partners with business, analytics, and data engineering teams to design scalable data models and standardized performance metrics that enable reliable, automated insights across the organization. This role focuses on translating business objectives into well-defined KPIs, building analytics-ready datasets, and establishing consistent measurement frameworks that support enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Define, standardize, and govern KPIs and performance metrics aligned with business objectives.

  • Translate business questions into metric logic, dimensional models, and analytical outputs that support scalable reporting.

  • Partner with data engineering and platform teams to design data models, transformations, and pipelines that produce analytics-ready datasets.

  • Ensure KPI definitions are traceable to authoritative data sources and implemented in a reusable, scalable way.

  • Develop and steward standardized metric frameworks and semantic layers that support consistent reporting across teams.

  • Reduce manual reporting by enabling automated metric calculations and scalable analytics workflows.

  • Analyze existing reporting and measurement practices to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation.

  • Promote reuse of data assets, KPI definitions, and analytics patterns across technical and analytical teams.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in analytics engineering best practices, metric design, and performance measurement.

  • Evaluate analytics and measurement capabilities over time and recommend enhancements aligned with the broader analytics roadmap.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Experience designing and managing KPIs and performance measurement frameworks within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.

  • Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with analytics-ready data models.

  • Experience collaborating with data engineering teams to define data models, transformations, and pipelines.

  • Experience translating business objectives into standardized metrics and scalable reporting frameworks.

  • Background in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics roles supporting enterprise reporting.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with R for statistical programming and analytics workflows.

  • Experience with Python for analytics or data engineering tasks.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft BI tools and SQL Server environments.

  • Experience working with statistical programming and analytical modeling.
