Core duties
- Technical support: Provide technical assistance and training to employees, and act as the main point of contact for user support.
- System maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and software.
- Performance and troubleshooting: Monitor system and network performance, troubleshoot errors, and perform data restoration and repairs.
- Security and compliance: Ensure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and industry standards by managing firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and user permissions.
- Upgrades and licensing: Maintain software licenses and manage hardware and software upgrades.
Project and planning
- IT projects: Manage or participate in IT-related projects, such as new system rollouts.
- Planning and purchasing: Assist with planning future IT needs, including researching and purchasing new hardware or software and negotiating with vendors.
- Documentation: Maintain records of software licenses, warranties, and hardware/software inventories.
Additional responsibilities
- Training: Train employees on the proper use of technology and new systems.
- Advising: Provide advice on the most appropriate IT choices for the organization.
- Collaboration: Work with other team members and departments to maintain functionality and standards.
