IT Generalist
Simple Laboratories is seeking a skilled and versatile IT Generalist to join our team at our main laboratory and headquarters located in Harwood Heights, IL. The ideal candidate, reporting to the Director of IT, will have a broad knowledge of IT systems and be capable of managing a variety of technical tasks to support our organization's technology infrastructure.
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with availability / flexibility on alternating weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day IT support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems and software.
- Monitor system performance and ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve IT-related issues.
- Follow security best practices (HIPAA, least privilege, MFA enforcement, endpoint protection)
- Manage inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Support and maintain company websites and internal applications as needed.
QUALIFICATIOINS
- Proven experience as an IT Generalist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with network security practices and anti-virus programs.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plus.
- Familiarity with LIS is a plus.

- Comfortable handling potentially infectious biological specimens; adherence to all applicable PPE and other Laboratory Safety policies
