IT Head (Night Shift)

Job Summary

We are hiring a Head of IT to lead and manage IT operations for a US-based retail chain from our Karachi back office. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in retail POS systems, infrastructure management, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate will work closely with US stakeholders during night hours, ensuring seamless IT operations across multiple retail locations while maintaining high system availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

• Lead and oversee all IT operations supporting US retail stores
• Build, manage, and mentor the Karachi-based IT team
• Act as the primary point of contact for US IT stakeholders and leadership
• Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, systems, and performance

POS & Retail Systems Management

• Manage and support Point of Sale (POS) systems across multiple locations
• Ensure smooth integration with inventory, pricing, and reporting systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve real-time POS and system issues during US business hours
• Monitor system performance and implement enhancements

Infrastructure & Security

• Oversee IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and cloud environments
• Ensure system uptime, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Implement and maintain IT security policies and data protection measures

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate effectively with US-based teams in fluent English (verbal and written)
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Provide regular updates on system performance, incidents, and improvements

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers
• Oversee software licensing and IT procurement
• Ensure cost control and adherence to IT budgets

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s AND Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (mandatory)
• 5–8 years of relevant IT experience, including hands-on experience with retail POS systems
• Experience working with US-based clients or retail chains is strongly preferred
• Proven ability to work night shifts aligned with US business hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs400,000.00 per month
