About the Role:

The IT Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the technology infrastructure within a dynamic real estate and rental leasing environment. This position offers hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting IT systems that support business operations, including software applications, hardware, and network resources. The intern will collaborate closely with the IT team to ensure seamless technology integration and assist in implementing innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Through this role, the intern will gain valuable exposure to real-world IT challenges in the real estate sector, contributing to both daily maintenance and strategic projects. Ultimately, the IT Intern will help maintain a reliable and secure IT environment that supports the company’s growth and service excellence across its property management and leasing activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and common software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and end-users.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or practical experience in an IT support role.
  • Familiarity with real estate industry software or property management systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as mobile device management.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and networks.
  • Provide technical support to employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to monitor system performance and implement necessary updates or patches.
  • Support data management tasks including backups, data entry, and ensuring data integrity across platforms.
  • Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, software deployments, and process improvements.
  • Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions.
  • Help ensure compliance with company IT policies and security protocols to protect sensitive information.

Skills:

The IT Intern will utilize their foundational knowledge of computer hardware and software to assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues encountered by staff. Communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with the IT team and providing clear support to non-technical users. Analytical skills will be applied to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement or potential risks. Familiarity with network configurations and security protocols will help maintain a safe and efficient IT environment. Additionally, the ability to document processes and learn new technologies will support continuous improvement and professional growth within the role.
