IT Manager

The Manager of Information Technology serves as the technical operations leader of the IT department, managing day-to-day technical operations, project execution, and team supervision under the direction of the VP of IT. This role focuses on hands-on technical leadership, ensuring efficient delivery of IT services, and maintaining optimal performance of all technology infrastructure. The IT Manager acts as the primary technical implementer, translating strategic initiatives into actionable projects while providing direct supervision and technical mentorship to the 5-person IT team.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate IT department staff including performance support, professional development, and daily work assignments
  • Manage help desk operations ensuring timely resolution of user requests and technical issues
  • Manage team workload distribution and prioritization to meet multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide technical mentorship to junior staff
  • Lead cross-training initiatives to ensure team coverage and knowledge sharing
  • Oversee day-to-day administration and maintenance of network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Manage networking equipment including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Administer Microsoft Exchange and related Microsoft ecosystem technologies
  • Monitor and track all IT vendor contracts and service agreements to ensure timely renewals and prevent service lapses
  • Implement network automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Perform advanced network troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues
  • Manage cloud networking components and hybrid infrastructure connectivity
  • Manage hardware and software lifecycle including procurement, deployment, and retirement
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to VP of IT
  • Maintain detailed network documentation and configuration management
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Advanced networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and network security
  • Extensive experience with Cisco/Meraki networking equipment and management platforms
  • Strong Microsoft technology stack experience
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industry preferred
  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Experience administering a hybrid infrastructure
