Job Purpose:


IT Manager is responsible for proposing budgets for programs and projects, purchasing and upgrading equipment, supervising computer specialists and IT workers, and presiding over IT-related projects.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee information system and communications network and provide technological guidance
  • Develop and implement a customer service platform to serve the organization in every aspect and maintain a network infrastructure for local and wide area connectivity and remote access
  • Coordinate with administration, department managers, and manufacturing representatives to exchange information, present new approaches, and to discuss equipment / system changes
  • Manage vendor contract negotiations for all new computer equipment and software purchased for the corporation and oversee internet and computer operations
  • Create a cost-benefit analysis for supporting a detailed definition of data requirements and departmental workflows
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the information technology department including directing staff, supporting administrative computing, networking, user services, telecommunications, and other information technology functions
  • Assess and anticipate technology projects and recommend appropriate action and resources and identify user needs and resolve problems
  • Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information technology department and provide technical support or training for systems and networks
  • Propose hardware / software solutions to accomplish the company's business objectives and provide advice on the most suitable IT choices
  • Monitor system and network performance, perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration and maintenance activities
  • Coordinate between end users and high-level support, maintain licenses and upgrade schedules and collaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality
  • In conjunction with and as required by Upper Management, contribute to the formulation and implementation of Tibah’s strategy in line with Tibah’s vision and mission.
  • Ensure that strategy is translated into annual operational business plans and objectives for the department, and that performance is monitored and managed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of forecast cost and revenues; areas of underperformance are identified and opportunities to improve performance are capitalized upon.
  • Participate in the development and roll out of manpower planning and forecasting activity, ensuring that one’s department is sufficiently resourced and appropriately structured to deliver on its objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the department’s activity so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled to ensure that Tibah delivers a world-class service.
  • Manage the cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce wastage and unnecessary expense.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE management policies, procedures and controls across the department to ensure that Tibah provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.
  • Contribute to managing change in own team by providing inputs for and taking part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment.
  • Promote and drive continuous improvement across one’s department as whole in order to achieve the Organization’s mission, vision and strategy.
  • Identify and take part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment.
  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of direct reports to ensure that all work within a specific team is completed to the required standards and in line with Tibah operating policies and procedures.
  • Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
  • Manage department staff and teams by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, training and development to ensure high levels of engagement and competence.


Qualifications, Experience & Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
  • Certified in AutoCAD is an added advantage
  • 7-8 years of related experience in a similar role / responsibility, preferable in a similar industry
  • Prior experience in network management and helpdesk support
